Elpida Kokkota is a renowned social innovator dedicated to women’s economic empowerment across 159 countries. With a firm belief that educated and empowered women are vital participants in civic and economic life, she has leveraged her 18 years of international experience in social impact strategies to create significant change. As the Founder & CEO of Mexoxo and a PhD Candidate in Economics and Gender Equity, Elpida has developed scalable solutions for gender impact, conducted ethnographic research, and become a prominent speaker on gender issues. Under her leadership, Mexoxo has democratized education for 142,000 women globally. In 2023, she pledged to the Clinton Global Initiative to educate 100,000 women and surpassed this goal within a year. Elpida's commitment to social impact has garnered recognition, including being named a European Obama Leader. Her efforts are supported by a network of over 250 global stakeholders from corporations, academia, government, and local NGOs, all aligned with her mission to empower 5 million women by 2030. In addition to her professional achievements, Elpida has volunteered extensively with various organizations, supports LGBTQI+ communities, and speaks four languages. She has lived in the United States, Mexico, and Greece, bringing a rich cultural perspective to her work. Currently, she is writing a book on life as a woman, further contributing to the discourse on gender equity. Elpida’s work is driven by a deep commitment to thought leadership and real-world impact, making her a pivotal figure in the movement toward global gender equality.
